On average, the members of our senior leadership team have more than 15 years of experience creating and managing joint ventures with our company. This talented team partners with hospitals and physicians to deliver consistent growth and profitability.

Kyle B. Fisher
Chief Executive Officer

Kyle has more than 20 years of experience in finance, new business development, strategic planning and organizational leadership. He joined VEI in early 2008 as chief operating officer (COO). As COO, he was responsible for providing operational accountability and executive leadership for the entire organization, including the development of strategic plans that provide advancement of financial goals, as well as promote solid partnerships with physicians and hospitals.

Additionally, Kyle has been involved with VEI for many years, through his service as a board member and chairman of the Investment Committee. Additionally, he has been a part of Community Health Network’s Audit Committee.

Prior to joining VEI, Kyle was executive vice president at Goelzer Investment Management where he was responsible for new business development and client services. He has also held senior-level leadership positions in the banking industry. He received his Bachelor of Arts in economics from Denison University and a Master of Business Administration from Wake Forest University.

Kyle is actively involved in the local community and serves on the boards of the Indianapolis Zoological Society the United Methodist Foundation of South Indiana. He is also involved with the Children’s Bureau of Indianapolis and the Heroes Foundation.

Amy D. Glover, RN, BSN, CNOR, CASC
Vice President of Surgical Services/Surgery Center Development & Operations

Amy has been with VEI since 1991 and has more than 25 years of healthcare experience primarily in the areas of perioperative nursing and management. She first became involved with VEI in the planning and development of the Indiana Surgery Center North and was appointed administrator. The ISC-North opened in 1992 as VEI's first freestanding ambulatory surgery center and remains the busiest ASC in Indiana. Amy continued to be involved in various joint venture discussions and consultative projects and was the clinical lead for the development and operations of the Indiana Surgery Center Noblesville which opened in 2000. She has been vice president of surgery center development & operations since 1998 and is currently responsible for five multispeciality surgery centers, two endoscopy centers, three hospital-based surgical departments, and surgery center development activities in the Indiana market.

Amy holds a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Indiana University and CNOR and CASC national board certifications.

Linda R. Hajduk, RN

With more than 30 years of healthcare industry experience, Linda joined VEI in 1994 as an account manager, then served as human resources director, responsible for recruitment, training and retention efforts for VEI’s staff of over 1,900 associates. Currently, as vice president and chief administrative officer, Linda’s additional responsibilities include coordinating the delivery of administrative services to VEI clients, including HR, finance, legal, marketing, IT and purchasing functions. Her role includes ensuring the quality and cost-effectiveness of these administrative services, monitoring client satisfaction with administrative services and aligning services with VEI philosophies and standards.

A Registered Nurse, Linda began her career with 15 years in hospital nursing. She holds a bachelor of science degree in management and a master of science degree in management from Indiana Wesleyan University.

Curt P. Miller
Director of Marketing

Curt has held marketing and public relations positions in the health care industry for more than 15 years. As director of marketing, Curt oversees the strategic marketing of VEI’s surgery and endoscopy centers, retail pharmacies and physician practice management business. He is also responsible for the marketing of inpatient surgical service lines including urology, bariatrics and general surgery, focusing on market development and growth.

Before joining VEI, Curt was the team leader of Marketing Services at Hancock Regional Hospital and an account manager at Hetrick Communications. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Indiana University.

Larry N. Monn, M.D.

Dr. Monn joined VEI as chief medical officer in 2007. In this role, Dr. Monn’s primary focus is on patient safety, clinical quality, clinical outcomes, regulatory compliance and the reporting of VEI’s results to external organizations and agencies. He works closely with VEI’s surgery center leadership teams, operations committees and the board of managers at each center.

Dr. Monn is a board certified plastic surgeon and has practiced within Community Health Network since 1974. He served as chief of staff for the network from 1983 to 1986. In 1990, Dr. Monn founded, along with other physicians, Indiana Surgery Center North and has been the center’s board chairman since its inception. He also continues his independent plastic surgery practice concurrently with his role at VEI.

Dr. Monn received his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana and his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana. He completed his residency in general and plastic surgery at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois.

Linda Pendleton
Vice President, Real Estate Services

After receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Management/Administration from Indiana University, Linda launched her career in real estate. She was a commercial real estate broker with, what is now, Colliers Turley Martin Tucker for 10 years, before making her move into health care real estate.

With more than 25 years of real estate experience behind her, Linda brings a wealth of knowledge to VEI and Community Health Network. Linda oversees the leasing of 500,000 square feet of medical office buildings, the management of an additional 350,000 square feet of medical space, and the construction of both physician tenant suites and building projects. She also supports the network's real estate needs by providing assistance with lease transactions, land and building acquisitions and dispositions, and real estate consulting services to the physician practices affiliated with Community Physicians of Indiana and Indianapolis Medical Management.

In addition to her real estate responsibilities, Linda oversees the management of three hospital-based retail pharmacies, as well as a number of retail boutiques within Community Health Network’s hospital lobbies.

Not only is Linda active in her role with VEI, but she also takes an active part in her community as well. She serves on the Board of Directors for a nonprofit, continuing care retirement community in Indianapolis, Westminster Village North. Linda and her husband also own and operate an upscale wine shop in a suburb of Indianapolis.

Karen C. Turner
General Counsel

For almost 20 years Karen has been advising her clients on an array of corporate matters, including joint ventures, private placements and financing arrangements. Karen joined VEI in September 2004 as director of business development. In May 2005, Karen assumed the role of general counsel for VEI with responsibility for legal oversight of all VEI projects and relationships. Prior to joining VEI, Karen provided legal counsel both in private practice and as in-house general counsel to corporate clients across a variety of industries, including roles with ADESA Corporation, Reilly Industries and Gibraltar Mausoleum Corporation. Karen’s experience also includes serving as a mergers and acquisitions and corporate transactions attorney with the Ice Miller law firm.

Karen holds a bachelor of science degree from Indiana University and a J.D. from University of Michigan School of Law.

Bret A. Weitzel

In 1989, Bret started his career as a staff accountant within VEI’s physician practice management division. He rapidly advanced to accounting supervisor, then to accounting manager. Since 1995, Bret has served in the capacity of vice president and chief financial officer for VEI. He is responsible for the financial reporting for the corporation and all Limited Liability Companies owned and managed by VEI. His activities include the coordination of the annual budgeting process, supervision of all banking relationships, materials management activities, financial statement preparation and analysis, tax return preparation, pension plan administration, and coordination of internal and external audits.

Bret holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Indiana University, a master of business administration degree from Butler University, and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Jeffrey A. Brown

Jeff joined VEI in 1998 as the business director for Indiana Surgery Center East. In addition to this position, he also served in financial support and analysis roles for Indiana Surgery Center South, surgical services departments of three network hospitals.

In his current role as senior director of business operations, Jeff serves as the key financial resource for Indiana Surgery Center East, Indiana Surgery Center South, Indianapolis Endoscopy Center and the Community Center for Digestive Care. In this capacity he is accountable and responsible for the overall financial performance and management of business operations for all four centers, which includes billing and collection, budgeting, financial analysis and planning.

Prior to joining VEI, Jeff held positions in public accounting as well as corporate accounting in the telecommunications and insurance industries. Jeff received a bachelor of science degree in accounting and economics from Ball State University, and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Melissa R. Hughes
Business Operations Director

With a background in accounting, Melissa began her career with VEI more than 11 years ago. Throughout her career, Melissa has been integral in facilitating all financial processes for a large organization, including budget processes, payroll management, financial reporting, audits and cost reduction plan. Additionally, she has worked with physician practices at all levels, from managing the startup phase through retirement.

In her current role as director of business operations, Melissa is the key financial resource for Indiana Surgery Center Noblesville and Indiana Surgery Center Kokomo. In this capacity she is accountable and responsible for the overall financial performance and management of business operations for these centers, including billing and collection, budgeting, financial analysis and planning.

Melissa holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Indiana University.

Michael T. Hogan
Director of Business Operations

Mike has been providing business development, management and financial services for VEI since 1993. He started his career with VEI as a physician practice administrator, where he managed a four-physician specialty practice. Mike has also served as an account manager and division director, where his responsibilities included managing physician practice operations at multiple locations.

In his current role as director of business operations, Mike is the key financial resource for Indiana Surgery Center North and Hancock Surgery Center. In this capacity he is accountable and responsible for the overall financial performance and management of business operations for this center, including billing and collection, budgeting, financial analysis and planning.

Prior to joining VEI, Mike served as the chief financial officer for a biotechnology company. He received both a bachelor of science degree in business and a master of business administration from Indiana University.
